We report the first documented record of the mourning gecko, Lepidodactylus lugubris, from the state of Amazonas, Brazil, expanding its known distribution within the Brazilian Amazon. Additionally, we provide observations on the feeding behavior of this species in urban environments of Belém, Pará. Individuals were frequently observed feeding on the nectar of various plant species, as well as on sugary artificial foods. These observations confirm the species’ dietary plasticity and its ability to exploit anthropogenic food sources, which may facilitate its establishment and persistence in urbanized areas.
