Aiming to expand the knowledge about the flora of the state of Paraná, a floristic survey of the Sapindaceae family was carried out, which, despite its high floristic richness in the state, is still little known. The study material was obtained through collections of herbaria. We recognized 61 species, 12 genera, six tribes, and two subfamilies. The greatest floristic richness occurred for the subfamily Sapindoideae, with 60 species; for the Paullinieae tribe, with 42 species; and for the genus Serjania, with 24 species. There was a predominance of climbing species, all circumscribed in the Paullinieae tribe. New occurrences in the state of Paraná and the Southern region of Brazil were Paullinia caloptera, Serjania perulacea, and S. pinnatifolia. Three species were found in lists of endangered species: Cardiospermum corindum, Serjania hatschbachii, and Talisia angustifolia. Eleven species were considered rare, as they had one to three specimens registered in herbaria. The results obtained regarding the number of genera and species, new occurrences, and rarities can be used for the elaboration of lists of endangered species, maps of geographic distribution, and the demarcation of areas for conservation.
