The Boletim
The Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi is one of the oldest scientific journals in Brazil and the oldest still in publication. Created by Emílio Goeldi under the original name of Boletim do Museu Paraense de História Natural e Ethnographia, its first issue dates from 1894. Currently, it is published three times a year in two parallel series: Natural Sciences (Ciências Naturais) and Human Sciences (Ciências Humanas).
The Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi ‒ Ciências Naturais (ISSN 2317-6237) has as its main mission the publication of original works in the areas of Organismal Biology (Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Systematics, Biogeography, Evolution, Ecology, Behavior, Comparative Anatomy, Conservation), Geology, and the Theory, History, and Philosophy of any field within the Natural Sciences. We also welcome catalogues of natural history museum holdings and studies on their history and the life and work of associated people.
The Boletim is a platinum open-access journal: all published content is freely available online without charge to either authors or readers and their institutions. All costs are covered by the Goeldi Museum, a research institution under the Ministry of Science and Technology of Brazil.
We adopt LOCKSS and CLOCKSS for archiving.
